ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
The Rosedale Water Association, Inc., is a Florida non-profit organization representing the rural water system for the Rosedale Community, in regard to drinking water and wastewater needs. The Rosedale Community consists of approximately 145 neighboring members and is growing exponentially. The community is centrally located between City limits of Chattahoochee and Greensboro, Florida and is the main thorough fare for access to Interstate-10 from Chattahoochee.
THE BOARD:
The Rosedale Water Association is governed by an Executive Board consisting of a minimal of 3 members. The Association may also have a standing committees who may consider and recommend actions and proposed policies in functional areas under their jurisdiction, subject to final approval of the Executive Board. Each standing Committee elects its own chair annually. The Executive Board meets quarterly. The meetings are held in the local community or within the city limits of Chattahoochee, unless otherwise approved. Meetings may be virtual or face to face.
HISTORY
The Association was formed in June 1972 for the purpose of meeting the water needs of the local community and beyond. At the time of its inception many of residents used well water or local springs for drinking water and creeks for other agricultural needs. It was the mission of residents to have a sustainable water system; that was both safe and reliable. Various options were explored and ultimately an agreement between the Association and the City of Chattahoochee was established. The Farmers Home Administration provided both technical assistance and a loan for initial development of what is the now the Rosedale Water System. The Rosedale Water Association has contracted the City of Chattahoochee to maintain and test the system, as well send out the monthly water billing to the members utilizing the system.
